Early Wednesday morning we were given notice that a guest speaker talk was to take place later on in the day. The two individuals that came in were Bella and Michael from a charity organisation that deals with tackling homophobia and trans phobia within schools by giving talks and taking the “phobia” part out of homophobia. The talk started off as any other would, we were instructed to put our chairs in a circle and then after some tie spent shushing the chatter, the two speakers introduced themselves, the charity and told us about their personal story about dealing with the previously mentioned problems. We then partook in a moving debate and were put into groups to discuss said topics. After a class and a half the bell rang signalling start of break. We thanked the volunteers and left for lunch all of us even that little bit more educated on those confusing letters (lgbtq and so on).
